As Promised!

Here is Mark-My-Words in Purple Splendor - with another twist!  I've replaced the center ring of each trefoil with an SCMR and thrown a ring off in place of the third decorative picot.

I started in the same place as the previous cross; in finishing, I had two SRs to tat before tatting the chain.  Which cross do you prefer?  Or do you prefer the original?

The teacher list is up at the Palmetto Tatters website!  Yes, I am on it, and I have very distinguished company:

  1. I have only just finished the cross with your first modifications and now you have produced an even prettier version! So tomorrow will try that one.
Congratulations on being a teacher again this year, will be thinking about y'all

    1. I forgot to mention the thrown off rings are 7-7. Other than that, the stitch counts are all the same as the first one.

We'd love to have you back - both you and Jane - as we say down here, "y'all come!"

  2. That's a beautiful cross! I can't say I prefer one over the other, but I do love that purple!

Three more years, then I'll be able to attend Palmetto Tat Days!

    1. I'm doing one now in Caribbean - will post it at some point.

Why don't you offer a class in blinging shuttles? You do such lovely work (I should know, I've got two of 'em!). And a class in origami bags - ooh!

  3. Hmmm...now I will have to play with this cross, I play with most patterns I tat, a least a little, after I tat them the first time...but that pattern has become a "quick" "mindless" tat when I need a bookmark fast and I've never played with the pattern at all. Now I will :-)

    1. It is a quick tat, even with the modifications - I can tat one while watching an episode of Downton Abbey (they're under an hour long) and usually finish tassel and all.

  4. I like the addition of the TORs they elongate the design. Perfect. The first was pretty too.
Congrats on the the teaching assignment. Wish I could come, but like Diane, I need to retire first.

Congrats on the teaching position. I hope to make it this year. Looking forward to meeting everyone and learning lots, too.
